APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Special Services Department or Building Principal


CAN HELP BE IMMEDIATE: Yes, referral and diagnostic procedures will begin immediately. Temporary placement is possible when a student receiving services transfers from another school district and has had an active IEPT meeting.


SUPPORTED BY: Algonac Schools, Intermediate School District Special Ed. Tax, State and Federal Funds.


PROGRAM/SERVICES DESCRIPTION: There is a broad range of programs and services available to all handicapped youngsters in the St. Clair River area.

Basic Classroom Programs for Educable Mentally Impaired, Emotionally Impaired, Hearing-Impaired, Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired, Learning Disabled, Trainable Mentally Impaired/Severely Mentally Impaired.

Supportive Services include Teacher Consultants for the Educable Mentally Impaired, Learning Disabled, Visually Impaired, School Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired.

Services specifically designed to meet the needs of a child with a disability include the following: Teacher Consultant, audiological service, psychological testing, speech and language therapist, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school social work, VI consultant, HI consultant, mobility and orientation service, and instruction provided by special education teachers to assist special education students who are homebound.
